Back to School

Hello everyone! Well the time has finally come for classes to start again. The summer was a lot of fun and I'm sorry that it's over. It is good to have everyone back at JMU though. Today is my second day of classes and so far my classes seem alright. I am only taking 14 credits worth of classes this semester, so I only have 4 academic classes and then meetings for my senior thesis. One difference I notice in my classes this term is that most of them seem to be based upon doing a semester long project and then presenting it at the end. This means that there is not a lot of homework or other busy work during the year, but I will have to meet with my groups and work on the project throughout the semester.

As I've mentioned before, within my Integrated Science and Technology major, I am concentrating in Information/Knowledge Management and Telecommunications. As I've discovered in the past couple of days of classes, I must be the only girl in my year doing Telecom as a concentration because I am the only girl in both of my telecom classes. That is just funny to me since the ratio of girls to boys at JMU is 60:40. There are definitely more girls than boys around here.

Another difference this semester is that I only have two classes a day. All my classes are earlier in the day, so my nights and afternoons are free which is really awesome. But I have a feeling I won't have that much free time for long, since I still have my internship to do and meetings for my senior project.

I gotta go... hope school is going great for everyone!
