Where did the summer go?
Hey everyone! Once again, sorry that I haven't been writing as much lately! I have been trying to squeeze everything that I've wanted to do this summer into these last few weeks, so I've kept myself pretty busy. I can't believe that its August already! The summer has been great, but its gone by unbelievably fast.
So to catch you up on what I've been up to lately... Last week I met with all the people that I am working on projects for since I had been gone the previous two weeks. They caught me up on anything that happened while I was gone, and I told them what I planned to do the next few weeks. Now I have quite a few things to do before I leave once again to go home for a couple weeks before school starts. So I will only be around Harrisonburg for a week and a half more before I am once again in TN. After that, school will be starting! I have mixed feeling about school starting. On one hand, I am so excited for everyone to come back to JMU because I miss them. On the other hand, I am not so excited to be going to classes and having homework and projects to work on again. But there's only one more year of homework and projects for me and then I'll be graduating. That is also incredibly strange to think about. When I started college, I felt like I had so much time before I was out in the "real world", but now it's already almost that time!
Well, I'm in the Synthesis lab right now trying to make sure that I get everything done so that I can go home and not have to worry about anything. When I'm home in TN, my dad and I will be going on our annual backpacking trip. Also, I will be going to help my brother move into ETSU (East Tennessee State University) where he will be a freshman this year. My birthday is at the end of August, so hopefully there will be some sort of family birthday celebration before I come back to school. I will be at school on my actual birthday and everyone will be back to school by then, so I'm really looking forward to my birthday, especially since this will be the big 21!
A few other things I have been doing lately include going to Baltimore and King's Dominion. I had never been to either place, so both places were so much fun. In Baltimore we mainly just went to Inner Harbor and that was a very cool place with all the boats and restaurants and people everywhere. King's Dominion was sooo much fun. We rode every roller coaster at least once, and I can't make up my mind which was the best one. I really like the Volcano and the new ride Tomb Raider was also awesome.
Well, I'd better get back to work! This is most likely the last time you'll be hearing from me until school starts, so enjoy the rest of your summer!!
