Where's The Snow?!

Hey everyone! Well yet again I had another great weekend at JMU. Saturday was my Water Polo semi-formal, one last get together with the guys and the girls team before we are buried away under the piles of books we'll be studying for our last minute assignments, and of course our dreaded finals. After the semi-formal though, reality began to sink in. I have a lot on my plate this upcoming week and a relatively short amount of time to do it all. And on top of that I was assigned a new Little Brother in the Big Bro/Big Sis volunteer program, so I know that I'm going to be busy this week.

As you can imagine when I heard the news about there being 2-4 inches of the white stuff I couldn't wait for the clouds to open up on us. Well I was thoroughly dissapointed, and instead of waking up to a winter wonderland, I had to get up and drag myself to class through the cold. In reality though it was probably better that I didn't have a snow day, because I know I wouldn't have gotten anything done in the first place. And being unproductive is about the last thing I can do to myself right now. The biggest thing looming over my head is my last computer science programming assignment which is due Tuesday. This one is a real doozy. I'm creating a program to play the game blackjack. Sounds tough, right...well it is. I'm sure for the more adept computer programmer this might be a walk in the park, but for me it's more like a marathon through the Rockies. Not to scare anyone off computer science though, because it is a very valuable field, it's just that I'm not the one to be in the field.

In other classes everything is winding down. I'm starting to build my portfolio to present to my class about how to build a sustainable house on the Island of La Gonave in Haiti. It's been interesting doing the research and finding methods to conserve resources that people in America don't really use. A real eye opening experience. And there is only one more leadership class for me before the end of the semester, which stinks. Dr. Warner has been one of my favorite professors here, and I know JMU is so lucky to have a man so passionate about this school. I'm going to miss his class.

Well that's all for now, back to the grindstone for this one.
